Anyway, this question is stupid, dinosaurs laid eggs, and they came before chickens, so therefor it was the egg. Now, if it was the chicken or the CHICKEN egg, then it might be a logical question.

That's frequently my philosophy about the whole egg thing...of course, once it has been changed...you wonder, did the animal manage to form when it was still out of the egg, or did it have to wait until another was born w/ different perks...and became the chicken... I don't know if there's any proof either way.... ~*~Me

i think it was the chicken because it evolved from other birds and THEN laid an egg

But it CAME from the egg...
WAIT!!! The question is improperly worded. THE EGG DEFINITELY CAME FIRST!!! Dinosaurs laid eggs, and there were no chickens back then.

Also, never ANTICIPATE. And don't expect the unexpected, there is infinetley many possibilities to expect, and if you expect them it makes them expected. So there is no way to expect the unexpected.

The chicken egg came first because animals (and other living things) evolve slowly. Say there was a bird that was a 95% chicken. That is not how it is really stated but you all know what I mean. ;)It lays an egg that is 96% chicken. A 96% chicken popped out and laid an egg that contained a 97% chicken and so forth. The last bird finally laid an egg that contained 100% chicken and thus was a pure chicken egg. The first thing that came was the egg since the pure chicken egg is where the 100% chicken came from. It can't be the chicken unless there happened to be excessive radiation and a bird spontaneously mutated directly into a chicken. But that isn't possible. That was my longest non-list post. I am proud.

Well put.
See, this question, while philosophicall, has to be solved by science. Philosophically thinking, the solution would go:
The Chicken had to lay an egg, so it had to be there first. But wait, it had to come from and egg, which would have been there before! But that egg would also have been layed by a chicken!!!
