As you have probably heard, fires are raging all throughout Southern California.
Copy this: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&ie=UTF8&om=1&msa=0&msid=114250687465160386813.0004 Then append this to the back. The extra space of the return screws up the link 3d08ac31fe3357571&ll=32.990236,-116.732483&spn=1.105782,1.757813&z=9&source=embed
The red are the actual fires. The yellow are the evacuation zones. Hopefully we won't have to evacuate. Classes have been canceled for 3 days due to smoky air.
We really need rain now.
Now classes canceled for 1 week.

Yeah the socal fires are pretty bad. I checked the San Diego fires on google maps...just a whole bunch of red icons XD. U guys are pretty much surrounded with smoke. Its tolerable at Irvine. We got some fires too. Closest is like 22 min away from here i believe. For the past few days, its been hella hot, windy and it feels like im breathing in ash all the time. HORRIABLE

It does suck, the sun was orange on monday. It's tolerable here, for once it doesn't smell like smoke at night. We should get some rain next week.

According to a cousin of mine in San Diego, the ocean is black with soot.

According to a cousin of mine in San Diego, the ocean is black with soot. That's a grim sight. I haven't seen the ocean myself, but the ash is blowing into ocean due to the winds.

Yeah. Lucky. Sure. Mmhm. That's a pretty damn disrespectful and callous remark considering the reason why they get the days off.

Um, don't be so quick to judge bezzerkker, that comment can be interpretted serveral ways. Considdering how close they are to the fires, having to go outside to walk to class is a big deal. Even where I was it was like walking into a smoking lounge. It was lucky indeed that they weren't required to undure the potentially hazardous air just to get to class.

He made no remark about how it was lucky they were allowed to go to a safe distance, just that it was lucky to get days off.

Neither was strongly implied. Even if it had been the way you insist on seeing it, there was no refference to it being a good trade off. There's nothing wrong with actually enjoying the days you get off from school rather than being depressed about other people's problems. There's nothing wrong with sympathy or wanting to help, but it's stupid to feel perpetually bad just because always someone somewhere will undoubtedly be having a godawful time. Now please, cut out the moral BS, there are far bigger things than this to spend your time on.

Damn it Nick, I was enjoying all the popularity. I felt kind of like the guy who wrote the bible or something, with everyone saying that I meant a different thing. You had to spoil it by being rational.

Wait awhile and then add to that statement. Then it'll be more biblical. (And the bible was written by multiple authors)
