Well, in a scene where someone is going to be sacrificed, the muffin would be sitting there next to the person, and it wuld always be near Marla when she's possesed, but everything it does would be implied. Well of course the talking is explicit, but the muffin would just be sitting there.

How would it be subliminal? I'm not sure I understand.

I was thinking more of a haughty and imperious voice for the muffin. But when it tempts Marla, it is all whispery and subliminal.
I haven't worked it out quite yet, but I was planning on having it tempt her to eat it, and so come under it's power. But then if it is eaten, then (a) how can it still be sitting around, and (b) if it survives being eaten by Marla, why would Alex destroy it when he eats it, and is immune to it's effects.
The buttering of the muffin (Alex would be carrying a random tub of butter with him "because you never know" ) is a solution for part B, but A remains a problem.
Any helpful ideas about how the muffin would safely posess Marla?

sounds great. ^^ and marla won't be a demon in it which will make her happy, and alexei wont have many onscreen scenes hich will make HIM happy, and Alex gets to eat the muffin which i'm sure he'll be glad to do. But, but, but.... If I'm good, then my purpose in the comic is to bug geneva.... I've only gotten alexei when I was evil...*sob* ~*~Me

Alex (Ralston) has a very nice creapy quiet voice you could use, if you're able to draft him.

Any helpful ideas about how the muffin would safely posess Marla? Hmm... How about hypnosis? Or how about Marla just decides to worship the muffin 'cause it's so great? That's why people worship God/gods, yes? Or perhaps both? Or...or... How about Marla eats a PIECE of the muffin? And then when Alex eats the whole muffin, it could leave room for a sequel... Someone: "Yay! The evil muffin is finally defeated!" Alex [dazed eyes]: "Yes...defeated..." Tun tun tun! And then the muffin can use Alex as a proxy for its body.

Thanks! Marla eats only a portion of the muffin, which would be a literary equivalent of Persephone eating the pommegranate seeds. And then maybe because the muffin has cool powers it would regenerate.
I was toying with the idea of having the muffin survive, though getting around that buttering could be tough. Why would Alex eat the muffin if it weren't already destroyed ('cause it looked tasty?). One idea I had was having muffin crumbs (from a very sloppy destruction) start to re-form into a blob and scuttle away (using stop-motion filming).

Here is the screenplay for the first scene of the movie, sorry for the long wait, I'll have more soon.
Black screen, Text apears: Once long ago, there was a great evil in the world…
…who was promptly defeated by a handsome hero.
Close-up: Guy in heroic pose
Black screen, Text continues
But it was not destroyed, instead it lingered on through the ages, waiting to be reborn
sensing that it’s time had again come, it once more took form, to spread it’s evil throughout the world.
Int. Marla’s house
Close up: Blueberry muffin sitting on a counter. Voice in back ground, "hello I’m home"
Shot of door: voice says"Is anybody there? Door opens a crack, eye peers trough
Long shot, zoom in on muffin.
Door opens all the way, Marla walks through, pauses and looks at muffin
Shot over marla’s shoulder: "a muffin?"
Low angle shot, Marla approaches muffin.
Close up of marla’s face with a quizzical expression.
Close up of muffin: overlapped voice-overs whispering: "Eat the muffin" "Blueberry muffin" "Tasty bluseberry muffin" "Muffin" "Muffin!"
Cut between Close Up of Marla’s face, and close up of muffin, which looms larger each time. Whispering in background continues.
Close up Marla’s face, mouth opens, as if in restrained desire.
Hand reaches toward muffin.
Close up: Marla takes piece of muffin to her mouth and eats it.
Sound stops
Shot of muffin on counter with marla on other side of frame.
Close up of Marla’s face with a blank half-dazed look to it.
Close up of Muffin: Booming voice says "you have eaten from the forbidden muffin and are now my slave"
Cut to close up of Marla’s face: Marla stares with a dazed expression for a few seconds, and then snaps out of it, with an evil grin.

"Black screen, Text apears: Once long ago, there was a great evil in the world…

Hmm...was the original evil a muffin also? If so, the "handsome hero" could be a fat kid eating pizza. I doubt, though, that your idea of the original evil is a muffin, so don't mind me.
"sensing that it’s time had again come, it once more took form, to spread it’s evil throughout the world."
Maybe insert creepy music here?
"Int. Marla’s house
Close up: Blueberry muffin sitting on a counter. Voice in back ground, "hello I’m home"
Shot of door: voice says"Is anybody there? Door opens a crack, eye peers trough"
I think it would be a bit better if the creepy music I mentioned earlier plays while the camera focuses on the doorway as Marla comes in. Then the camera could explore the dark corners of the house in a few quick cuts as Marla calls out, questioning any potential foreign presence. The muffin would not be shown until Marla opens the door to the Muffin's room, at which point really tense music plays but relieves after the muffin is shown.
"Close up: Marla takes piece of muffin to her mouth and eats it."
Tense music here?
"Close up of Muffin: Booming voice says "you have eaten from the forbidden muffin and are now my slave""
I think you could do without this part. It would be better to keep the audience guessing at what happened by using Marla's changed expression as a sign of a disturbance. After all, the audience does not know yet that the muffin itself is evil (although I assume that they will figure it out after this shot) and is tense with expectation of how this evil is reincarnated - just giving them the answer kinda spoils it.
Besides that, great intro! And it wouldn't be too hard to make either.
