Here we are now, the war has begun.
According to the news, troops are/were preparing for a strike that will come within an hour.
Multiple small and large, direct and indirect attacks have already been made.

The attempt to hit Saddam failed. I guess he is hiding in a bunker somewhere.
I agree that we must unify the world eventually. Seriously why can't we see that we are all one species living on one small world. Of course before this can be attempted, we must first unify the languages on Earth.

It will never happen due to the nature of humanity. Only religion can ever unite us, and even there our views change.

It can happen. It will just take a long time to convince every one to agree to learn a second language. The trick is to make that second language the same across the world.
As for unifing the religions, I am sure that religious conflict will one day be confined to what our future generations call the "barbaric times."

there is no need to unify religions: everyone can keep theirs. the language i agree with, most likely english. then, we would have to have a world leader or council. i say council.

Sounds good to me. Democracy is always good. With everyone under a good, fair government, human suffering should be wiped out.

I think the McDonalds might be an effect, not a cause of peace. It is simply not good business sense to expand somewhere that doesn't like the United States or its culture or somewhere where there might be civil unrest.

i think the us uses mcdonalds as a way of introducing chemicals into foreign populations so that they are easier to take over

Yes. But when someone has a gun, but refuses to obey the laws pertaining to gun ownership, do you kill them right then and there? Or, in Saddam's case, when you think someone has a gun, do you kill them right then and there?
