The entire world has about 8 billion people, whereas the US has about 300 million. See the difference?

I dont know of any country without police, Why would the US be supplying the police for the whole world? There are already enough police for an entire nation... Even a surplus if you convert the military to police (since it wont be needed any more).

Even a surplus if you convert the military to police (since it wont be needed any more). What about when the space aliens come? We need an elite group of people to take them down!
That is, if they want Earth... They can just chill with us otherwise...

I think we would be worse off... In general, because we would lose foreighn competition, thereby limiting government investment in the private sector. This in turn would worsen the economy by the sole fact that reduced government input and control over the economy will in general create larger fluctuation in the economy, and worsen it. Moreover, the lack of government input into the economy will also more likely destroy smaller companies, and in that manner reduce private competition, which will result in a general worsening of the economy.

And further more, if the economy was screwed with, like us humans do to economies so often, we could not get loans from other countries, the whole nation would be in debt. There is the fact that money from richer areas could be spread around, yes, but richer areas are usually outnumbered by the areas that would need the money.

To who then? Ourselves? All debts erased I would think.

Perhaps, but that's only until the government makes a huge tax hike...

I think it would be a good thing. Although foreign trade is good for each country, if you think about it, we are just trading with each other. If everyone was part of the same country, we could continue to do so. Perhaps there would be less finacial incentive in some cases due to tariffs and taxation laws etc. but in the end, the people on Earth will still consume the same resources as before. As for competition, private companies still compete with each other. One could say that by remaining united, the U.S. does not have as much competition as if the states were seperate. Then one could take it further and say that there would be even better competition if we broke into city-states. By uniting, there might be less competition, but it will never go away entirely. and there are 6 billion people as if 1999 not 8 billion.

Why not? I mean it probably won't happen in this century, but eventually, humans will have to accept the fact that we all live on the same planet and that divisions along cultural, religious, or traditional bounds don't make as much sense as it did in the past.

sure, you might say, the world would consume the same amount of resources... the question would be wether the world would produce the same amount of resources? would we produce technology at the same rate...?
