I think I am going to go read up on what would make me exempt from the draft. Hmm...

But talk about getting your priorities crossed: do we A) Want to educate the next generation for the future OR B ) Kill the next generation. :: cue Jeopardy music:: *Submits his paper*
What is A? $2200

What I dislike about this draft is that it forces everyone to go whether they are fit for it or not. If someone wants to further their education, why make them spend their only life on the battlefield when they could be much more useful if they continued their education and become a productive member of society? It is sort of a short term gain for a long term loss. Which is a dumb policy by the way...

I'd rather share a cell with Bubba than fight in a mindless politicians' war. and I'm sure Bubba wouldn't mind sharing a cell with you...

I think my main problem with the draft is what they want to do with it. If the war made any sense at all, I'd probably quit my whining and go die. *shrugs* But it doesn't, and few wars really do. So pooh on the draft.

I'd gladly back my country were it fighting for a just cause.

So, who's with me on moving? I'm not fighting for this Lunatic country, not by choice, and not by force. I'm thinking of getting my Canadian passport reinstated or whatever. Canada, anyone? Of course, one would have to move a few months BEFORE one recieved one's draft card, since they're seriously tightening up the border, but That's O Kay... *dark angry glares*

We go to Alaska, where the borders won't be as closely watched, and THEN sneak into Canada and hang with the mooses (meese!). Or we could force Narla to um adopt us all or um something.

They really want the entire young generation to go, no matter how wasteful it will be if a talented kind invidual must die along with the those who act obnoxiously and do not wish to study or do anything.

hey now
plenty of talented, kind individuals also act obnoxiously.

Well what I meant was those who were kind would not be obnoxious simultaneously. If they acted mean to others, then they are not kind. (even if they acted kind to certain other people sometimes) Just a minor side rant with the kindness thing. Anyways, the fact is, if college students are required to go, then it is a bit of a waste of the potential. If someone wants to commit to more education, is it right to drag them away to fight for someone else? I think that conscription only makes sense if it is in the defense of the country's borders. But that is just me.

the problem is that, now, the enemy can attack without even coming close to our borders. That means that in order to protect our borders, we have to prevent possible threats. However I still disagree with conscription (Im not patriotic enough to fight for the US) and I also dont agree with the state of US foreighn affairs... the Moral diplomacy policy is not one that I believe in.
