so yeah. the vote was cast last week. the teachers at all CSU campus have decided to strike. The president and his immediate underlings have all been getting raises. but the teachers haven't been.
This will be a rolling strike, and will hit all CSU campuses. No action will be taken until after the 6th, so basically, after spring break, for us.

Actually, this was called off I believe. Something happened or someone decided to step in from what I understand. Could still happen, but nothing concrete yet. Either way, I'm not particularly happy with the school board here in general, and particularly with my school's administration. I had to go through hell just to get a club started and they recently spent a crapload of money doing fancy shit with the library and adding coffee houses when the food in the dining hall sucks and there are never enough working dryers in the laundry room. The teacher pay issue pretty much goes without saying of course.

Starting a club should be hard if they give you money for it.

hard in a way that makes sure that you're up for it and will put a lot of time into it
not hard in a way that makes you want to go on a killing spree in the school

Starting a club should be hard if they give you money for it. Except that they don't give us money. If we organize special events and field trips, that's another story, but those need to get reviewed anyway. All we get is to be able to advertise on campus and to rent a room for club meetings, which is usually small and which we usually don't get for very long (try cramming any game into an hour).
