So... what did you end up doing? I ended up giving help, but not adding them. Now I'm not sure if that was the best idea.

it was one of the better choices imo, they ought to learn that way to get off their asses earlier and still get what they could out of the lab

Im tempted to say just ditch them, but I think helping them wasn't a bad thing. One thing I've discovered is that a lot of people have cheated and weasled their way into college, and are still unwilling to put in any work. I won't say I'm an example student, but I at least make a decent attempt to do well. Don't feel guilty just because they screwed themselves over. I've learned from experience that friendly people can be the worst kind of lying jerks. Not saying they are, but I wouldn't help them again if they come crying to you the night before an assignment is due.

if they come back, don't even consider adding them
if you don't care enough to learn from a mistake the first time you should have to do it alone
