The number of elected mods is now TWO! Ask Pavel; he can confirm.

This forum was, is, and always will be a dictatorial democracy, and that's the way things should be.
Democracy is good, but some decisions have to be made by a higher power.

I think it is a good idea. With three mods, there is usually one person who never gets to do anything because the tasks are so few.

It's free unless you try buying it.

so? if your going to do that, you are effectively reducing the chances of a member from becoming moderator. If you want to do that, I would suggest first eliminating the stupid 2 term limit. That would be a better change.
Though the forum has always been a dictatorial democracy, there are a few factors. First of all, the dictator must know when to act, and also when not to act. This is a time when he shouldnt act. You have to realize, this forum hasnt been visited by pavel (and by visit I mean that he makes a post or changes something) in a long time. Because of his lax policies, the forum is used to self-governance. Taking that away so suddenly seems like a huge blow on pavels authority. If he were to change this rule, it might make him unpopular, and eventually spark a rebellion.

1) You know as well as I do that three mods is one (or even two!) too many! 2) Self-governance? Rebellion? This isn't freaking colonial America; it's a forum that makes up an insignificant portion of our lives and never actually governs us. Also, because we effectively borrow the forum from Pavel -- not the other way around -- he has every right to alter its rules to his liking.
In other words, while a government is meant to be held up by its people, a service merely fluxuates with the whims of its service-man/woman. Democracy and political science are optional and often unapplicable. 3) I don't see how "eliminating the stupid 2 term limit" would help anything.

Just to end this argument I will respond with my traditional phrase:
Shut up Ali.
