Napoleon is just a silly little angry man in an oversized hat with delusions of grandeur that somehow manifested in the land of France.

He did pretty well for being a silly little man, you gotta admit.

If he were still alive, I'd sit on him.

If napoleon were still alive... Europe would be completely unified instead of loosely confederated by the EU.
If Napoleon were still alive... Europe would be the greatest power in the world! and the US would be bowing to its will. As a result, George Bush probably wouldnt have been elected... thats always a plus.
If Napoleon were still alive, hed beat you in Warhammer.
Plus he didnt have delusions of Grandeur... most people who have delusions of Grandeur believe they are Napoleon or some other such mighty person. Napoleon had no need for that since he was Napoleon!

I was joking.
If Napoleon were alive, he'd be, like, 200 years old (I don't know historical dates, nor do I care about them).
If Napoleon were still alive, we'd be speaking French, and all the rap would be in French, and the amount of French rap is directly porportional to the amount of earplugs sold, for an obvious reason.
If Napoleon were alive, we could no longer make fun of the English for driving on the wrong side of the road.
If Napoleon were alive, French Fries would actually be French.
If Napoleon were alive, his great empire would probably have broken up about 5 years after he conquered the world since he would be unable to unify and control such a broad expanse of land effectively.

actually Napoleon was able to very effectively control his already large empire and I have no doubts he would have continued to do a good job even on the global scale..
His strategy consisted of unifying each country as its own "department" in his unified global empire.. so that the Germans would still be in Germany, but Germany would have the same laws as France (almost... they might have different tax rates and slightly different laws according to custom) and would be controlled by France

And so he wouldn't have any trouble controlling that revolt in California from his thrown in France even though his troops would have to march for months to actually get there to quelch it. This is the reason the Roman Empire failed, and it probably would have happened again.

Napoleon would probably have Alsheimer's by now and forget how to pull his own pants on, so ruling a nearly global empire would be close to impossible.

Napoleon would have troops stationed in California... he wouldnt send troops from France.. plus, Napoleon would have airplanes that take about a day to get to California by now... also Napoleon's father never had Alzheimers.. so neither should Napoleon.

But even with the policy of having the conquered nations act as departments of his empire, could Napoleon really stop nationalistic movements in those territories?

What if said territories accept Napoleon as ruler?

exactly... not only that.. but it seemed to work for Germany and Italy... as long as his incompetent brothers died out quickly, Napoleon could easily have kept the territories from revolting... with a few exceptions, but those would later be added to his empire by force... and eventually would calm down.

also Napoleon's father never had Alzheimers.. so neither should Napoleon. Are you sure that is comes from the Y chromosone? And how do you konw that if Napoleon's father did not have Alsheimer's? Also, there is the possibility that if he lived longer, he may have developed it.

Technically it would be better for him to let Germany keep most of it's own laws but change the taxes, not the other way around. The Prince describes wery well how to hold conquered territories, the best way being is to come and live there, but since Napoleon could not be in all his teretories at once untill he cloned himself once the technology was available) he would have to change as little of their custom as possible. Thus the conquered countries would not feel like France was invading their culture, and as long as French tax policies remained reasonable, they would have little cause for unrest.
