Most male children have used a stick at one point in their lives, not all old people need walking aids and out of those that do not all will use walking sticks per se.
Do umbrellas count as sticks?

we are not talking about the single use of a stick... we are talking about the general use of sticks.

any one you refer to as "the man" or "that man" is obviously old. "man" is almost a synonym for old geezer when used in that context.

Will you not stop this foolish and pointless argument? Tsk tsk tsk, you're breaking one of the biggest rules in actually persuading someone or having a debate. Never insult anyone or anything. By calling this debate foolish, you are being degrading when there is no need to be. Its obvious that I am in the right, but without actually procuring mercury, it is near impossible to prove my point... Just accept the consequences and give up on a futile argument that only aggravates me and other readers And now we've gone dogmatic! Such a weak way to back up your argument. At this point, it may not even matter if you are right, as long as you continue to do it the wrong way. Have you, by chance ever taken a class on debating?

Man can reffer to anyone either over 18 or 21, depending on whether alchohol is considdered a privilledge of reaching manhood or womanhood. It does not have to reffer to an old person.

but the way in which archagon used it in his post gave it the sense of referring to an older person. sort of like a familial way of saying "hey, old man".

Your arguement does not apply, for "The Man" was the person's actual username.

"The Man" is a gangsta term, which applied to middle aged people, not old ones.
