Is the slam poetry thursday? Whoops, filming.
Oh, and I as a general rule never go to school events, even if they are fun. I just can't make time for all of them and if I only go to some the others will be sad.

Well, I SUPPOSE it is not the entire english department...but in tenth grade, I was forced to take out an entire section of my I-search because it went against certain aspects of the Christian faith. Also, I feel that certain english teachers dont really care about their students because they degrade them and make them feel stupid.

I won't go not because I don't believe in the poetic potential of the student body, but because my subconsciousness automatically grows anxious in the presence of any student work and lowers the quality of my output for weeks.

well I went and was not at all dissapointed. Personally I think you guys are thinking too stereotipically, assuming that its some collection of beat students under Mr Rosenburg. Wrong! About half the poems are serious (of which many are well performed) and the other half are completely ridiculous. When the movies are posted up youll have to watch some of them.
Here are some of my favorites:
Ivan Vjoickajshdin... however you spell it... performing rap about himself going down to in and out... It was magical.
Rob Cameron performing a brilliant abstract masterpiece. All decked out in beat, he performed 1 million. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14"... etc. He performed it beutifully as well.
Sheila Emami Actuallly performed a good poem!!! (If any of you know her poetry it usually is pretty bad...) For once.
Sam Zarnegar.... Beutiful Elementary school memories. Said in a true kindergarten vocabulary.

After seeing the movies of last year's, I actually was considdering going. Poetry of any kind isn't my thing though. Hate writing it, hate reading it (listening to it as well). fuck you Arachis or whomever the hell you are. my poetry is better than any of the shit you could ever write. thats why i have a publishing deal, but what do i know. my poetry suck huh? the judges in palo alto dont seem to think so (im a sacrificial poet). oh and by the way i won 350 bucks that night so eat my ass.

sorry... I didnt mean your poetry, I meant your performance of the poetry. The poetry itself is usually pretty good. However, that night, I admit you shined and its possible that after that you began to perform your poetry much better too.

I would imagine not, going by the sentence structue, spelling, and grammar and vocabulary(i THINK i know sheila the best here) but it could explain the several month lag in a way, but on the other hand it could be one of the fcuktards who surf the forum's old posts because they have no life, then think its funny to comepletly freak you out like that. which you DID deserve, sorry.
