Ok... Ill start off with an announcement... I hope that everyone here will come to watch (and maybe participate) in the poetry slam which will be coming up in a long time... so you have the time to write and craft a good poem... and then memorize it and perfect the performance. Its really fun anyway. (Not to mention you can win money) Check out videos of past winners (to take a look at the competition and to see how fun it is)
Anyway. On to the news. Every month or so, the same Slam club has a "poetry cafe" which brings a bunch of people to main street cafe where random people bring poems and read them. Its normally quite fun, and the time dmitry and I went, well... yeah we were quite impressed with some people (not every one is great but some definately are). Also what added to the whole atmosphere were the cookies and cider (those cookies are so good! Anyway, there was another one tonight about an hour ago, and I was expecting a repeat performance of last time... only better. It started off badly. The previously free refreshments now cost $3 (which was still pretty good for as many cookies as you want, drinks, and small sandwhiches). Still this ruined half the atmosphere in my opinion. Furthermore, today nobody came! well... thats not necessarily true. Many people came, but they were all spectators. Main Street Camp and the basketball game prevented all of the livelyhood from being there. So today it was only me and one other person reading poetry. It was sort of depressing. Curse you main Street!!!
