I remember reading in someone's Livejournal about a game in which you shuffle the tracks in your music library (if you have one) and list the first 10 that come up, no matter what they are. Perhaps it would be fun to try that here. 1) When the Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV I don't think this was included with the original vinyl LZIV. 2) Victim of Love - The Eagles - Hotel California 3) Walk the Walk - Poe - Haunted Poe is a little-known indie singer who sounds a bit poppish. 4) Inversion - ? - Castlevania COTM/HOD Soundtrack This is a song from one of the Gameboy Castlevania games. 5) Eh Prohoziy Prohodi - Tsoi - Gruppa Krovi Tsoi was a famous Russian singer back in the day. 6) Vocalise - Rachmaninoff You know this one from my "Vocalise" post. 7) Powder Blue - Elbow - ? Elbow is a great indie UK band. Go to www.elbow.co.uk for samples. 8) Incarnation of Darkness - ? - Castlevania COTM/HOD Soundtrack I got two Castlevania songs because the album is very large - 45 tracks, to be precise. 9) Goroskop - Diuna - Ey Tovarizh Dolgopruzhniy Another Russian band, but this one is lesser known. 10) Another Tsoi song - Gruppa Krovi I don't know what it's called, because my computer shows Russian as gibberish.

This is always fun!
1.Served Faithfully- Ani DiFranco This song makes me feel sad for some reason. But in a way that makes it a good song. "Sometimes love seems like a fancy word for compromise. You gotta read between the years; you gotta write between the lines"
2. Temporal- Radio Tarifa Spanish music with African influence (southern spain is closer to Africa than you think!!). So fabulous! Listen and you just have to dance!
3. Daisy Through Concrete- The Eels Such an addictive song! I <3 Eels. Muchly. Few groups are so diverse.
4. Barangrill- Joni Mitchell Joni's poetry and beautiful voice will make the fact that she never had formal music lessons seem the biggest, most rediculous rumor in the world. One of the most talented artists and the predecessor to Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, etc.
5.Marakesh Express- Crosby, Stills, and Nash Ahh! Another addictive song! I love CS+N (and Young when he's there). This song is perhaps not the best example of their usual incredible use of alliteration, but still great.
6. In My Life- The Beatles One of their best love songs, imo. Very beautiful and I love the musical interlude that sounds so formal. Figures that it's a work of John.
7. Der Holle Roche knocht in meinen die nacht (aria from Mozart's "The Magic Flute) The Magic Flute is one of those operas whose music just never gets old and boring. I actually can listen to this CD straight through without getting bored. Especially this aria with some of the most stunning female opera work in music history. It's said that it was inspired by Mozart's mother-in-law's constant complaining. Well, I know that it was that way in Amadeus (which usually means it isn't true), but I read that it was actually true somewhere.
8. Killer Queen- Queen What is there not to love about this song? Dynamite with a lazer beam!
9. Bob Dylan's 115th Dream- Bob Dylan I love this song for several reasons. A) Because it's funny and B ) it actually begins with him trying to start the song, cracking up, saying "start again!" chuckling for awhile with his wife, and then restarting. It's the perfect start! Dylan = fab
10. Life on Mars? (Live) - David Bowie I love this song in general, but live is a treat. David Bowie is super talented! "But the fllm is a saddening bore because she's lived it 10 times or more..."

1) Phish - The Inlaw Josie Wales beautiful song off a kinda ok album.
2) The Eagles - Life in the Fast Lane why this is here, i do not know.
3) Cream - Sunshine of your Love haven't listened to this in ages, but cream was like, the coolest band ever for like three years.
4) Nine Inch Nails - Hurt another one i haven't heard in awhile. sometimes i like to listen to NIN while biting the heads off of doves.
5) Bob Dylan - Hurricane bob dylan is cool. so is this song.
6) Placebo - Special Needs pavel likes placebo more than i do. this song's kinda wierd. they're cool.
7) CSNY - Country Girl i love csn and sometimes y (hey stef). this song is so hardkore.
8) Blink 182 - Wendy Clear i listen to blink when i'm feeling moderately bitter. i didn't used to dig em that much, but lately i've developed an appreciation for their work, which, while at first may appear simplistic and infantile, is really quite beautiful and insightful.
9) My Bloody Valentine - Glider greatest band to come out of the 80's. unfortunately disappeared in '92. their ambient pink fuzz fluff reminds me, in some ways, of Sigur Ros. slighty more accessible, but often requires a similar mindset to appreciate.
10) Joy Division - Isolation greatest band to have their lead singer hang himself after 3 years of jammin. the more gothic stuff is good to listen to when you're depressed, the punkier side is nice when you're pissed.
the end

I'll probably redo this once I rip all my CD's. (about 25 left)
Say, does anybody know the name of the song which ends with the male singers singing, "Sha la laaa..."?

I always liked it because there's so many songs going on and on about girls with blue eyes but this is the only one I've heard about girls with brown eyes like me!

Whew. It's finally done. Every single song and CD that I've ever had is now in one place, categorized and properly tagged.
Since I haven't listened everything in my collection yet, I'm only going to present the songs I am familiar with.
1) You're My Best Friend - Queen A charming song from "Night at the Opera". By now it's grown a bit stale, but I still like it.
2) A Horse With No Name - ? That is, I know who originally performed it but not this particular performer. Interesting lyrics.
3) If You Were Here - Poe The final song on Poe's "Haunted" album. I don't like it very much m'self, but it's not her worst.
4) God Save the Queen - Queen "God Save the Queen" as rearranged by Queen from "Night at the Opera". It sounds nice, but isn't really worth sitting down and listening to.
5) The House of the Rising Sun - The Animals Ah, the great classic. It's still lovely after all these years.
6) "Moonlight Sonata" - Beethoven I can play it better ;D
7) Disposable Heroes - Metallica While I don't like this particular song, the rest of "Master of Puppets" rocks my world!
8) IV - ? The tag originally said that this was by the Magnetic Fields, but I now have reason do doubt that. It's a very good techno-y instrumental that sounds a bit like rain.
9) Deus Ex Machina - Laibach I found this song accidentally while looking for the theme from "Deus Ex" (a video game). No regrets - it blew me away. (I guess that's another benefit of file sharing...through errors and mistakes on your and others' parts, you get to explore new music)
10) Blisters - Coal Chamber A song from the "Duke Nukem" compilation album that I unintentionally bought. Very steamy and blister-y, as the name and band imply.
