and find that all thought and worlds ease out of your mind to the point that your only function besides life support is to be effected by the waves of sound caressing your inner ears?
if so, what song(s)?

I'm in a Radiohead phase. word man, from those I'd say Let Down, The Tourist, The Gloaming, and Where I End and You Begin for me. Uh, Everything in it's Right Place does it for me too, and so does Down is the New Up. For non-Radiohead, I'd say Parabola, Wings for Marie, and 10,000 Days from Tool.

I fail to understand why everyone likes Radiohead. Their music kinda... does nothing for me.

its like the goggles from the Simpson's. "The goggles, they do nothing!"
Songs that make me feel this way are Rise Up by Disciple; Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck by Demon Hunter, as well as the original Prong version; H by Tool; Underdog by Audio Adrenaline; Would? by Alice in Chains; and Long Gone Day by Mad Season.
Oh, and Space Truckin' by Deep Purple. I swear, I want that song played at my funeral.

I fail to understand why everyone likes Radiohead. Their music kinda... does nothing for me. We could probably do a whole thread on that. I can understand not getting much from Pablo Honey and the Bends, but the later albums are so musically rich that I can't comprehend someone with your musical tendencies not digging. Also please consider listening to OK Computer under the influence of marijuana.

I know, I mean, I want to dig, but... meh. Guess I'll keep trying. No pot, though.

I fail to understand why everyone likes Radiohead. Their music kinda... does nothing for me. what have you listened to by them? It's funny, when I listened to them in high school they didn't do much for me. Then I kind of got into them. In this past year I became pretty much obsessed. I needed my daily fix of radiohead.

I like (not love) some of their older stuff ("Fake Plastic Trees", "Creep") as well as "Everything in its right Place", but OK Computer (reportedly their greatest work, right?) feels average to me. (Granted, I've only listened to the first ~six tracks, but hey -- if those don't sound that good, then what's the chance that the rest of the album will?)
For the record, I do like "Airbag", "Paranoid Android", and "STA", but not as much as the tracks mentioned above.

From what I understand, radiohead appeals to a certain crowd, usually one that smokes copious amounts of weed. Don't know why this is. I'm interpretting this thread as a 'what's your favorite song' thread, and since I've actually been listening to music, I actually have something to contribute. Fate or Faith by Ror-Shak, very relaxed, but I can't help wondering what it would sound like if a hard rock cover of it was done. Music video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdIP92VjBOkAlso a big Devin Townsend fan, my favorite of his so far being Gaia. He's absolutely awesome at making heavy rock tracks that sort of envelope you with sound. I sound like a cheeseball, but listen for yourself: www.hevydevy.com/audio/mp3/dtb_gaia.mp3Also a huge fan of Lacuna Coil's cover of Enjoy the Silence (orginally by Depeche Mode). I'm a huge fan of radiohead, but I do not smoke weed. Although I'm sure radiohead is great while smoking, that is not a requirement for enjoying their music. Anyways, just clearing that up.
