What new game concepts would people like to see? There has been some talk on remaking RTS concepts on the starcraft topic, but I made a separate one here.
Concepts can apply to genres or improvements to specific games or series.
I would like to see more politics in games like the civilization series. In Alpha Centauri, there was a planetary council that could vote on issues. You had votes based the amount of people you had. You could vote to induce global warming to raise sea levels, launch a shade to drop sea level, make global trading treaties to increase commerce, and repeal atrocity prohibitions (which cause economic sanctions if you use nerve gas). I found this to be very interesting and makes one more immersed into roleplaying the leader. Unfortunately there hasn't been many games that do this.

MMORPGs that have simulated ecosystems with the monsters you can kill to level up (some monsters feed on others, some have lifespans, some can become extinct for a time, if they can't find food they die, etc. . .)
RTS + FPS that I mentioned in the other thread, where you have a commander for each side who plays it like an RTS, and then other players act as soldiers

I like a lot of ideas that battlefield has (unlocking things for starters) but overall the actual game is kinda not so good.
what I was shooting for is more base building though.

There was a game called Savage that did that, but it never got popular. Dunno why.

A combo of FPS/RPG is what I'm getting interested in. Shadowrun is a game in development for the 360 and Windows Vista. (yeah i know vista sucks ass) I belive you can change from third-person view for sword slashing to first person view for guns. Its an interesting in that aspect. Also I believe this will be a MMO game. Just throwing this game out there....

A game I'd like to see is an MMOFPS mech game, kind of like Armored Core Nexus, but with the ability to have more players on the field at once. Possibly an MMORPG mech game would be kind of cool. As you might be able to tell, I like giant robot games.

i want to see a third person shooter that takes place in the future after modern society has collapsed and civilization starts anew, and you roam across the country recruiting people you meet in little nomadic camps built in the ruins and the wilderness to join you, to eventually form armies with which you fulfill your holy quest: either slay a big dragon or strike the killing blow to capitalist society and insure a natural, earthy, tribalistic lifestyle for your people.
oh and it would need to have a powerup where you smoke a spliff and it makes everything move in slow motion like in the matrix.
