Just released (at least on steam) today, I snagged it, and. . . I dunno.
At times they put too much crap in so you can't tell what the crap is going on, and the controls seemed a little slow to react at times (though due to some situational stuff when I played it that might just be lag as a result of having too much going on at once).
Graphics. . . are ungodly at max settings, and regrettable any lower as far as I can tell so far. The main problem I've noticed so far is that hitting a wall or something doesn't really do anything at all convincing, on medium settings it just put up a pretty ugly low resolution image that didn't really look like what would happen to a wall if you smashed it with a wrench.

I'll be picking this up for 360 cuz my computer probably can't handle it at more than minimum settings. Got great reviews, concept seems solid with great style and supposedly a great story as well.

This game looks really awesome but also kind of disturbing...
What are your specs JP? I am considering getting it but if it will not run that well I'll probably get something else (also would be another reason to get an xbox...)

2 gigs of RAM nVidia GeForce 6800 Pentium 4, 3.4 GHz
I can run F.E.A.R. on full settings with no lag. . . and honestly bioshock is at best slightly better than FEAR on full settings, so I don't know why the hell it lags like nuts. It may just need patching.

Apparently it was a DivX codec issue or some crap. They fixed it sorta but it still won't run too well on the highest settings, so I think theres probably something screwy with it still.

You might need to upgrade your video card for it to work better on full settings (or just double up with SLI). Ive heard that biosock really needs at least an 8600 or higher to run well on full settings.

Funny because I was actually considering upgrading the thing one I was in toronto, and I'd probably go with the SLI thing since I don't really have anything to do with the older card.
Its kinda rediculous though that it requires that, it doesn't look any prettier than HL2.

Just got this for the 360 and I must say I disagree with the above statement pretty thuroughly. The game has far better graphics than HL2 and F.E.A.R., or at least it does on the 360.
I will agree that it can get confusing visually at times, the complex lighting makes it hard to see what you're fighting in all the detail it was rendered with, but the texture mapping does make itself known very well.
Haven't beaten it yet but I'm pretty far. My only complaint is a boss fight that robs you of your weapons for its duration and then gives you them back afterwards. Unfortunately, you don't get all your amo back, something that is pretty essential to your survival. Otherwise the controls are very responsive if not a bit slow paced at first (you can speed yourself up later) and the gameplay pretty tactical.

lol I very much agree with the complex lighting and shit. It gets hard to see whos shooting at me. When u get hit, everything goes a blur. This becomes very irritating when theres a turret under a platform or jsut trying to find the bloody camera that set off all the security bots. At times, I get a bit distrubed...just what they are saying and wut they are doing. D:
Haven't finished it either...got up to giving a rose to some chick.
