I'm just curious, but I would be interested in hearing people's reasons.... I shall place my reason after at least two other people have voted. But here is my choice....
Blind
Happy musing!

I guess Blind, then maybe I could train to be a Sightless One.
The only setback is games and TV shows I'd miss, let's rate it.
Deaf: Miss Music.
Blind: Miss Computer games.
Tough choise, I'd pick blind.

Being blind has always scared me more than being deaf. They're both bad but somehow being blind seems a lot worse than being deaf.

I would rather be blind. Deafness would mean the end of my future career.

i'd rather be deaf... then i could still see the sun, and the flowers, and the computer screen.. and have a legitimite excuse to ignore my rather annoying mother, and be unable to hear my bother's shrill screeching when he comes back for more...

enough people have given their responses, that I feel obliged to give mine. Many people are using it to think what they gain... what they gain in possesions, or what they keep. For me, I wish to gain in knowledge and fairness. I'd choose blindness... For then, I could judge people on what they say, words that can tell the heart.... Being blind would prevent me from judging on appearance...and therefore, the person being judged gains a fair trial in judgement, and I gain the talent of looking only to the interior, and never the exterior.

Ah!
But is the exterior not a reflection of what you are on the inside also? You think about your exterior self-expression just as much as you think about what comes out of your mouth. Judging by what exits the mouth can be just as well abused as judging by sight. You may not like the tone of a person's voice, or you don't like the fact that they are male *ahem!* You may base them on wether or not they sound like they've smoked or have lung problems.
And how will you benifit society with fair judgement anyway?

But yet again, that voice tells something...the way a person uses a voice reflects on them as a person, believe it or not. And if someone expresses a "smokers" voice...then I WOULD judge that...because it means they do not know what is good for themselves, and don't take care of themselves, which can lead to the not taking care of themselves mentally, and drugs warp the mind.

So judgement by sight and judgement by voice have equal possibilities for abuse.

frequently sight is much worse when it comes to judging...because you can judge them before they're even within speaking distance...

But when you are blind, you can judge people far before you can see them.
Let's take hitler as a good lesson.
