Starfox: Command
Starfox: Command is the latest installment of the Starfox franchise. It continues where Starfox:Assault left off storywise.
Being on the DS, one might wonder: what is gameplay like with no analogue stick? Is it just like the original SNES? Etc.
Well I shall shed light on a couple of things, like gameplay, music, and um....stuff
Gameplay: how does one play Starfox Command!? EVERY button on the DS is shoot. "wtf Terrance!? hao i r playe teh game!?" Well it's rather simple. you use the touch pad and stylus to move and aim! WHOA! The usage of the touchpad and it's abilities really shines in this game. you can be pretty accurate in aiming and shooting, as well as piloting your ship! There are digital buttons on the touch pad that, when tapped, make you do a somersault or U-turn. There is a bomb that you can drag with the stylus over to an area you want to drop it! to barrel roll, you make circular motions, to accellerate, double tap the top of the screen, to slow down, double tap the bottom!
Ingamegameplay: They turned Starfox into a strategy game! You start out as Fox, and the Great Fox on a map. 90% of the time, the map is covered in fog, which you must clear out with your stylus. there are enemies and enemy bases you must destroy. You make a flight path each turn, and when you collide with enemy forces, you go IN GAME, and into the 3D world.
Level:
IN GAME:
If any enemies get to the Great Fox, you lose!!!!! WOOOO
Story: These alien things called Anglars are attacking the Lylat System!! OH NOES! They're like....ugly fish things. Notable Character differences: ech character has a specific ship with specific abilites. During the first missions, you only have Fox, but difference characters come in and out like a play, including Wolf's Team. Yes, you get the be them. By the second to last mission, or maybe a little before, you'll have the Starfox team as it as in Assault. Some of the new characters are Dash, Adross's Grandson, (he's good), Lucy Hare, Peppy's daughter, Amanda, Slippy's fiance, and a cpuple of others. There are like 8 different endings for the game, depending on what choices you make. I should also note that Krystal is a real bitch in this game, dumping Fox, and being really pissy. Of course, Fox booted her off the team to "protect" her, so I guess I don't really have sympathies for Fox either. but that's ok, Slippy still pwns, and has one the best ships in the game imo, so yeah.
Music: they use tracks from Assault, and 64 in this game, as well as new themes for each character. the level music will change depening on who you're using.
Graphics: for the DS, they're pretty good.
Sound: This is something cool: They went back to the mindless babbel they used to have in the SNES Starfox, where you read the text, and the charas just make random noises. what you can do is record your own voice, and the DS will warp it for each character, so it's you're voice for all of them. It cuts up your voice into peices and randomly strings it together, so it's all "er-eye-ah-or-al-eh?" (read it REALLY fast out loud.)
Multiplayer: fucking kicks ass. It can have up to SIX players at the same time, and only ONE person needs to own the game. Also, you can play online! wooo
so yeah. get it, I highly recommend it.
I shall be writing a review on Super Princess Peach (which I have an awesome poster of now), Super Mario 64DS, and Megaman ZX (after I beat it)
