What are your favorite non-mindless timewasting websites? Ask MetaFilter is a site like Yahoo! Answers and Askville, only much more refined. Many of the questions are intriguing ( "How many sexes are there?", "What is the worst tasting food?"), and nearly all the general ones are answered quite thoroughly. (Surprisingly, most of the specific ones are answered as well. Almost every song identification request I've seen, for instance, was answered within minutes, regardless of how little info was posted or how rare the song was.) "Best" answers as selected by the askers are highlighted, but practically every response is mature and valuable in some way. The downside is that membership (to ask and answer questions) costs $5, but it was totally worth it for me. Also, there's a 1-2 week delay between questions, but I suppose that's necessary given the amount of traffic AskMeFi gets. Best of Craigslist is an archive of the very best posts from Craigslist's various categories as selected by its users. The topics and formats vary considerably and include: stories; thoughtful and philosophical reflections; beautiful eulogies; humorous listings and personals; bizarre parodies; poetry and prose; eloquent rants; and more.

Nobody likes my thread. Oh well, I guess I'll just keep bumping it until someone responds in irritation.

WAGH! Why must I view this thread so much! Just kidding. I found the Craig's list one interesting. I enjoyed reading some of the personal essays. The one on resumes show the limits of BS for certain people.
