Oh now, even if we aren't all completely legal to be consuming alcohol, can't we at least behave like it? And Ali, darling, since you've never read a Cosmo, I'll tell you now that since it's a women's magazine, it has some fantastic insights to well, women. Call it research, takes one to know one right?
Xela, why would I waste my alcohol mixing it when I haven't the faintest idea what I'm doing with it in the first place? Though I've been told my place in a casino would be behind the blackjack table, not serving drinks.

I completely agree and sympathize, we're in the same boat. Fucking fucked cultural perception.
What's amazing is that the aforementioned cheap beer companies exploit this: they know none of their customers actually care what the taste is, so all of their revenue and efforts are spent towards marketing and image, not R&D into new and better brews, etc.
Lisa: You don't understand. Godiva and Pama and such are drunk by lightweight schoolgirls who want to be rebels but don't like real alcohol, and have never had a proper drink. If you mix them with the proper ingredients then you can end up with a stronger drinker, better taste and little or no alcohol burn.

I prefer Heineken and Budweiser to Coors and Keystone, for instance. And I don't always drink just to get drunk.

Whatever gave you the impression I wasn't? Do I need to be wearing a plaid skirt to be a cute little lightweight schoolgirl, or can we just take my word for it? I mean, I have the plaid. It's pink. Though cousin-sama has promised to take me clubbing in Oz, so maybe I'd better shelve that image.

No no.. at least in Sydney, youll fit right in with the little schoolgirl look. I guess it would be kind of wierd to go clubbing like that, but every school has a uniform, so all the girls are dressed like schoolgirls 24/7.

And I'm her mini-me, so we're probably going to end up matching. Or at least, in something as close to indecent as we can.

I meant to imply you WERE in the little schoolgirl category....
And I wasn't saying you necessarily fell into that category Terrance... And Heineken is a delicious and quality beer!

lets not call it delicious and quality, lets call it good and generic.

What the fuck does everyone have against Heineken? Just because it's actually the way a lager should taste, ie light without bitterness or graininess, and just because Heineken is the only foriegn company to penetrate the cheap beer drinking culture of American doesn't actually make it "generic" or anything like that. Sharp tangy bitter lagers are generic. grrr
Btw: If you have the chance, everyone should try "Blue Moon". It's a Belgian White Ale and it's amazing. Even non beers lovers like this one because it's so light and flavorful, with after notes of Orange and Coriander. hehe I finally managed to get my hands on a six pack of it....

Hey.. Heineken is good, but there are better lagers out there in my opinion. And im calling it generic because, since its so popular, I make it the standard. If a lager is worse than heineken its not worth drinking, since Id just get a heineken instead.

I don't think we're ever going to rectify our difference of opinion on this. I drink Heineken because its light and smooth. What you're calling better lagers are just lagers with a stronger, not better flavor. And sometimes thats what I want. Now Stella is more of a crap beer. It's overpriced for a bad blonde... And Corona and Heineken's popularity is due to their easy drinkability for faux beer lovers, unfortunately.
