can you explain a bit? why do you need firmware for your CD drive? shouldnt the drive have come with working firmware? there are ways (albeit difficult) for upgrading your bios without using a floppy. Usually a CD works now a days, otherwise you could always hook up a floppy drive temporarily to the comp and upgrade it that way.
If you are still looking for the firmware, Id try calling up Lite On, since strangely enough their website doesnt mention the model youve got anywhere, however it clearly is a viable model by its existence in reputable sites like newegg.
oh and I found this so you obviously arent the only one with this problem.

oh yeah.. I see how that could be a problem, Again, if you had different cd drive or floppy drive, then you could temporarily use that while reflashing the BIOS, and then retry your drive. Otherwise I dont know how to make a usb drive bootable, you should google that (but I believe its advanced).
