. . . .about a year away? february 2006?
something isn't adding up here, unless you're doing the annoying "technically it'll be 2006 and its 2005 now so its a year away"

I think the US release is now at winter 2006. Maybe that means February, but it sounded like later next year. It does seem to be almost finished though. We'll see.

For those who care (who number me and two others):
The class system is back sorta. You choose a race to give you some guidelines but aparently you can choose to train/fight using a certian bias. Conveniently, these specialties are called Hunter, Ranger, and Force. You can switch at any time, but I think the levels you have in each stack together to form your character. Kinda confusing. Check PSOworld.com, they know what they're talking about.
Also, they're testing a 'personal store' system in whih you can sell stuff, basically like an auction house. Yeah whatever.

auction house = USEFUL
and thats kind of cool, i like the direction they're taking with the hunter/ranger/force thing, it allows you to customize your character more easily i bet (if slightly less)

More stuff: the US release date is now Fall. Kinda sucks.
Also, they're adding an 'extra' mode in the single player. It allows you to make a character and essentially play the main game with them. The character will NOT be transferable to online mode. It's strictly for those who don't have a way, or do not wish, to play online. Still, it's a cool idea that opens up the ability to experiment a bit, and use the character creation capacity offline.

yea, exactly, i dunno how much the game lets you go back on things or how competitive the game will be BUT it would be a good way to test builds

More news for the one other person who reads this. 4 characters per account. You can freely transfer items between characters through a box that looks like a trash compactor. Also, you can feed your 'MAG', now Partener Machinery, other stuff than just items, such as weapons and stuff. They can also synthesis items for you, though it won't always work. I'm guessing you have to put something in to get them. Basically item creation.

thats kind of cool but i think the crafting system will suck personally, unless they do some nifty stuff and do research as well they're not going to know how it works
and i'm glad you get 4 chars per account, that is incredibly useful
