while i'm minorly angry that its a ps2 title as far as i can see, it'll be fun to play around with
(i wish it was for GC and PS2 because the PS2 lacks 4 controller slots without buying something new, that and i don't currently own my own PS2)

It'll also be for the PC, so no worries. anyway, I have the four way adapter, so it shouldn't be a big problem. They're still debating whether they'll have an offline multiplayer anyway though, so we might be out of luck. Also, the characters will be much more customizable than before, so you can change the character's eye color and stuff too. The classes will also use the eapons differently, (more so than before) so there will be a greater difference in the classes' capacities than just their stats and appearance. They'll also have a new race, which consistsof some rather beast like people.

it with copy paste i think the only problem with original link is that it doesn't go to the end of the URL
its nice to hear that it'll be PC as well, though if they have PC and PS2 servers combined i'll be iffy on it, that hinders the game more than it helps (see FFXI)
if they don't have an offline multiplayer mode someone is going to need to die. . . .that was one of the coolest parts of that game

One thing that is worrysome is that they're debating using the PS2 hard drive. bleh.

Hey, sry to double post, but here's some more data. First off, in an interview the producer or somebody said that the game was basically split into two parts. In single player, the emphasis is placed heavily on story. That's right, no more 'get to teh planet and hit teh bad monstres!!1!!1!' There was only one point of interest in the interview about the multiplayer was that he said the characters would be stored server side, meaning you need an online connection to play. Of course, it's for both PC and PS2, so if you don't want to buy the modem thingy (or a PS2 for that matter) you can just get the PC version. Some other recent stuff, the races: Humans: well rounded, can use techniques (spells) and fight with any weapon well. Newmans (Numans?): Techniques and a bit of speed I think. They look a bit less goofy now too. Casts: Androids, are now specialized ranged attackers. They can't use techniques, but instead can use MASSIVE guns known as subweapons. The beast dudes: Close combat specialists, can't use techniques if I remember correctly. They can go berserk though and change into big ol' monsters It seems theyve done away with classes. On a good note though, the characters are now REALLY customizeable, all the way from clothes to eye color and eyebrown shape. my main question is this, are PC and PS2 servers different? or does everyone connect to the same servers. because we really need to choose which we're doing as a group IF we're going to be playing together.
i'm thinking i'll be playing a cast if and when i play, though i'm skeptical about not having techs, i can't survive without my sexy resta in episodes 1&2 for the gc
the single player part is sexy, though i would hope they have multiplayer storyline bits, sometimes its fun to experience that in a group

They haven't said yet if the servers will be separate or not. I'm guessing they'll be the same though. It'll be coming out next year, so we can decide then.
As for me, I think I'm heading for the beasty dudes or the humans. I love swords too much to go for something non-cc oriented, and you can make some cool looking beastie characters (the customization should allow for that). I still like the humans, because I like being ballance.
Casts are cool, but I liked the shear power they had in PSO. The fact that they can use subweapons should make up for the fact that they can't cast techniques. I think I saw a pair of them in one of the many trailers that are out. Basically picture a dual wielded and slightly smaler version of the cannons from PSO. I have a feeling this will be a much more ballanced game than PSO.
I heard something abou the multiplayer taking place after the main game, with the players essentially mimicing the heroes in the single player.

february. . . . . february. . . . the month i stop buying other games. . . . . . . . . .
should have a job by then too, so it won't be that bad on the wallet
please! people who are really anti-pay-to-play and haven't tried it, i realize that if you don't have the money you don't have the money, but if you are strong-willed enough to not get addicted, and can stick with one game for a long period of time, it can actually be cheaper to play an MMO than buy 1 game a month, so give it some thought, and if you want to try one and like the way PSU looks, give it a shot, but be prepared to go against the grain, and force yourself to quit if and when you become addicted. i'll try and help people with this but its not easy

any indication as to how much it'll be per month (i couldn't find anything, but i don't really know where to look)? i'm hoping between $10 and $15. . .well, less is of course nice but i don't think that'll happen, with inflation and more effort put into these games
also i'm still wondering about whether or not they'll seperate servers, i'm not sure which i would like better, since one would allow us to purchase whatever version we wanted and still play with friends who bought the other version, and the other would allow for less lag (ps2 + mmo + anything less than DSL = LAGALAGALAGALAG)

maybe it will ask you which one you want to start a character on. and let you create multiple characters on multiple servers.

i doubt it, most of the time its either PC servers and PS2 servers, or just servers, though it would be interesting if they did that
