I think a company could make a sizeable profit by creating a toaster that purposefully brands/blackens a picture of the virgin mary on toasts.

No one would buy them, the whole point is that pictures that "appear" on the bread without human influence are supposed to be put there by divine forces making the object blessed.
If humans drew (or burned) the pictures on no one would care. I guess a company could make one sandwich in secret and claim that it was spontaneous, but they would get only that one sale. After that people would get suspicsious (especially if the pictures were created by a machine and therefor very simmilar)
