Decimals, because fractions tend to look terrible.

i hate fractions because they're harder to work with and they take up more space and they're just annoying

I agree. Decimals are easier.

fractions are easier to multiply/divide and pretty much are easier to manipulate in any function. Plus they are exact.

I prefer decimals, but I also prefer 1/2 over .5, but thats a special case

i'm pretty sure that was simply meant as an example, and that you're both aware of that

Decimals are good...but to be precise , fractions are bettter. Although there are some situation where a decimal cannot be converted into a good looking fraction. For example, .9784....the fraction is 9784/10000 which looks ugly.

no its not. The fraction is better than that. Its 1223/1250, which looks a little nicer.

Both are cool.
Fractions have my undying loyalty because they make conversions a lot easier so Obsessive Compulsive people like me don't have to re-check them every time.
Decimals are... ok. I used to dislike them because it didn't make sence to me that the first number after the period was in the tenths while the tens were the second number after the period on the other side, but now it makes sence so they are ok. But so far they haven't done anything special for me so they are not as good as fractions.

Decimals because thats how my math brain (a.k.a. the graphing calculator) gives me answers!

you can easily get your calculator to give you your answers as fractions.

yes but when they get out of control its not as easy to see how close they are to something
