look the expression itself gives itself away... love at first "SIGHT" You cant have love at any sight, love has to come from something deeper than looks. Loving someone for there looks is lust.... Therfore there is no point in arguing it.

So are you saying that if a person is blind, deaf, and can't smell or feel anything, they can still love someone who they don't know is even there?

So are you saying that if a person is blind, deaf, and can't smell or feel anything, they can still love someone who they don't know is even there? That makes no sense. And probably isn't what he meant. I think he was going for something like an intellectual, as opposed to sexual, connection.

and actually yes, I do beleive he could... although I also beleive such a man would not exist.... too many times he would be run over, or have burned himself etc....
but regardless he could only love what he knows about, so if he thinks about a "person" in front of him (who may or may not be there) he could love that "person"

I never expected this thread to get so many replies. I wonder why love is so important to humans?

Well, while we all have a different definition of what love is, I think we are all in pretty much agreement that love is quite possibly the best feeling humans know.

I think love is essential due to our quest for understanding and companionship. Life is tough when you try to struggle through it alone.

All chemistry aside, love is indeed a wonderful, magical thing.

Love is also the drive that makes us reproduce or survive. Both of which are necessary in the world to further your genes.
