I was wondering if you guys think it would be better to cancel the election this time due to lack of activity. Thoughts?

I think it is a good possibility that the election will have low voter turnout. Seems like the Mods are doing a good job. Since the summer has low activity, maybe the mods at that time should have a longer term.

It should all depend on the quantity of votes. After all, if a present candidate isn't running, then maybe that means that they'll be unable to participate/don't want to run this next term.

I disagree... Some of the previous mods are also not here... I think that in order to make sure that there are actually mods around... we use the opposite method. make the summer mod terms short, so that that way we will always have mods that are available... furthermore... I think the summer mod terms, with two-three week terms, should start at the beggining of summer and end on the first day of school... by which time the whole forum will be back, and can vote on the best mods.
But as I have always said... I think that summer modship does need some renovation, and Im glad that people are starting to agree...
Im curious, how many people actually voted for the invisible mod?

Ali, although you make a good point you also seem to make it a lot more difficult than it should be. Having mod elections every 2-3 weeks would be way too much of a hassle.
If a mod chooses not to be a mod for an extra term than we can either have 2 mods or elect one mod to replace the person.

but that's just the natural flow of things. You shouldn't drop your schedule because it's lookin lower than usual. And if the only people running for mods are the people that will actually BE here, then you might as well elect them. Plus, it would give people who wouldn't normally be mods due to more attractive candidates a chance to try it out.

I haven't recieved that many votes either, so it seems a bit unfair.

So what, I voted, and if Ali were to vote rather than just getting all pissy and complaining, we would probably have enough votes.
