Because I'm tired of staring at posts of a certain two individuals posting back and forth like this is a friggin' chat room, I'm cracking down on the spam policy. Posting off tpic is allowed, as long as the conversation follows a logical path, and has a point. Only post things that are meaningful.
Do not:
-post stuff like lol, HAHAHA, cool, and other such phrazes without backing up your opinion or posting some other relevant factiod
-post in very old threads just because you can and feel the need to do so. Unless you have a reason for bumping a thread, DON'T DO IT. spamming is even more annoying when you do it in old, long forgotten threads
-post anything directly off topic that comes out of nowhere, simply because you thought of it at the time
-post something that's already been said.
-create a thread that has absolutely no point. i.e., Andrew's 'who's sexier' poll. it's stupid and entices other people into spamming
All of this is just a clarification of normal forum policy with which we've been rather lax. I'm not changing any of the rules, just enforcing them. Remember kids, only you can help keep the forum spam free!

april foos day has nothing to do with making a thread go off topic. if you have something you want to say that has nothing to do with a thread that you are on, go create a new thread.

Well...umm....someone sure has a lot of repressed anger. fo reals. foo edit: actually, the only thing i don't dig is the last bit about threads with no purpose. other than that, people ought to censor themselves a little. just common sense, really.

It's funny, I was just deleting that post while you were writing that. I should have kept it around as an example of BAD POSTING. It was a perfect example of:
-spontaneous posting (the fact that he admitted it contradicted the rules I just wrote and posted anyway is evidence)
-Posting something with absolutely no relevance to the topic whatsoever (the April fools thing, as even though he does seem to have a problem with dates, this is not the first of April or any other month.)
I should have locked the thread...
Seriousely though, I'll give people three warnings and then i get to use the banning function (MWAHAHAHAHA)
As for repressed anger, it isn't repressed. It's directed very...directly...at Andrew for making my job as a moderator much more difficult. Now if those other Mods would show up...*cough*

Yah, I agree. Things have been going too far with some of the posts. I'm going to do the 3 warnings thing as well...you can only turn a blind eye for so long.

Nick, you are either being a prick, or quite silly. Andrew's post was quite on topic. He pointed out that your announcement bears a strong feeling of bitterness. i understand this may be somewhat comprimising to you, however, i do not see it as irrelevent.

no offense nick... but although Andrews stuff is often nonsense and stupid, sometimes it is quite on topic (though he is somehow able to turn what ought to be the easiest idea to express into the most incomprehensible mumbo jumbo one can read). Seriously, sometimes I feel like you are being a little too harsh.

You probably didn't notice half the stuff he posted a while ago when he first came on because much of it was quickly deleted. I was stuck deleting about three posts a day, and when I told him to stop he whined that he didn't understand that what he had posted was against the rules (i.e., filesharing, and several unmentionables) even though they are layed out quite clearly when you register for an account. I'm being harch because the rules are harsh, and I've been laxed for quite a while as most of the people on this forum follow their better judgement and don't treat it like an online chat room. I have also recieved complaints from other members about this. I have no objections to anyone posting if it is on topic. For henry's coment: I don't see how calling me bitter is productive in any way shape or form. As for your coments about digging up old threads, you're welcome to do so. Just don't post something like "HAHA" in an ancient thread. I don't see why people are getting so up in arms anyway, I'm just saying I'm enforcing the rules like I should be in the first place. I'm just posting this as a warning for those who have waranted this. If you haven't already watched this do so, and if you have, watch it again and pay attention. posting and you

I actually do realize that in the past Andrews posts were of a very different nature, and Im actually surprised he has come so far in such a short period of time. But I was only refferring to present posts where it seems like you deleted some that actually were pretty much on topic.

whether or not you are bitter, saying your bitter is productive, because it would imply that the actions you are following are not nescesarily done purely out of logic and reasoning, but bear a strong emotional bias agaisnt certain individuals, rather than a simple enforcement of the rules.
