A song that I wrote awhile ago. Sorta folk.
Mercenary's Price
The night was cold, The men were bold, As they rode off to war And with them were, Twelve maidens fair, All garbed in battle gear All at their backs, Arrayed in black, Were mercs who had no fear Said to the maids, The brawn brigades, "Come ride with us this year" The maids said nay, For long had they Thought Merc'naries to be queer Twelve maidens laughed , And soldiers scoffed, They brought their arms to bear The ladies grinned, Told them they'd sinned, "Get out of here, my dear" Mercs turned around, Feet made no sound, They left the ladies there.
(note that I am still working on this)

Note: The main premise of this song is that the women were promised to the mercenaries if they joined up in the army. Needless to say, the ladies were not pleased. The women decided that they didn't want the mercs anywhere near them, and cast them away. *shrugs* Weird song, but fun and more fun to sing than to write or read

You know, I really like this! I don't know why yet...
I'm glad to see that this board has probably the most good content than any other.

Yes it does. I have not put it into music, but I could easily sing it myself

Sing - sing - hey that's right! THAT'S what's wrong! Nobody sang anything at the party! That's a broken promise!
