What? Is there something wrong with being forced to paint and draw during your every waking moment all year long by a little old man who's always cranky because he never gets enough sleep?

you don't need a stupid class to slave over artwork... Do it on your own.

Easy for YOU to say, Ms. I-Drew-A-192-Page-Comic...
Besides, to perfect an ability it is nearly impossible to achieve mastery without taking lessons...

You would willingly put yourself in Mr. Wada's class and confront the Wada Irae (wrath of Wada)? Oh well, just get your assignments in on time...alas it is too late for me...go on young one! Take art from the Wada...leave me be, for I can go no further... ... ... ... ... ...ok, so I'm only a year older. So sue me.

Easy for YOU to say, Ms. I-Drew-A-192-Page-Comic... Besides, to perfect an ability it is nearly impossible to achieve mastery without taking lessons... I am completely offended. I have had to work for years and years to obtain the level of skill I have now, and am even to this day continually improving and changing. It is not impossible to do it without lessons, indeed, to this day the only art classes I've taken was a course in painting and a course in art history. If you really want to become a good artist you'd better apply yourself to the task with a passion to rival all passions. Only a very few (if any) find art to be a walk in the park. I struggle and work at every single thing I draw. That comic is a production of more than a year of work, and I'm sure I've thrown away nearly as many pages as I have finished. Do not think that good artists have an easy time. If you want to consider yourself skilled (which is a laugh, no artist but the very best that I've ever met have been content with their level of talent, this includes myself) you have to draw and draw or paint or whatever and continually strive for improvement. Even when you don't feel like anything you make is at all good you have to keep at it. Study other artist's works, continually sketch from real life, always always slave over evry peice of art you make. THAT is the way you become a good artist. You'd better love it, or you won't get anywhere. You don't need lesons really. You don't need anything but a paper and pencil and your own creativity. Try to draw things you know you can't. Keep trying until you've succeeded and then move on to another seemingly impossible thing. And finally don't say such things like"Besides, to perfect an ability it is nearly impossible to achieve mastery without taking lessons..." for one thing no one can ever perfect their artistic ability, secondly if you don't have the learning required, how would you know what it takes? If you think it's impossible for you, than you have just made it so.

Yeah, you're right, I'm sorry...was feeling a tad offensive that day.
On the other hand, you've had your sister to look up to, and I do believe you've said once that you learned some stuff from her.
And I understand the process. All creative minds (if I may call myself such) function the same way, no matter what medium.
However, whenever I put a pencil to paper, I can never achieve the result I want. A human form always becomes a stick figure. A shadow always becomes an ugly blob. It takes time, yes, but you must admit, for a beginner it is quite frusterating.
Sorry for offending you. I highly admire and respect all of your work.

I disagree about all creative minds working the same, I think there are wild differences. Also my sister is simply an example of studying other people's artwork. She never gave my any sort of lessons or pointers. And unfortunately for all of us, the frustration never wears off... I am continually drawing things I hate and getting irritated. It really sucks. You'd think one would get to a point where one could draw lots of stuff with ease and perfection, but nooo....
