I don't believe in Nirvana either, but I believe in peace of mind and harmony. I also believe that no matter how happy and at peace I may be, I could be more complete and deeper in my happiness with pot, if only for those few hours.
Because it's an external trigger I can turn it on, and control at least when it goes off.
I personally enjoy adrenaline highs, but I can't turn those off OR on by will, unless you count jumping off waterfalls.

I want to see if we can clear something up here. Alexei, what exactly do you believe is meant by "being high?" What do you think is meant when people refer to it?

Nevermind, I don't really care to argue this point anymore. I'm obviously not going to change anyone's mind, so why bother?

I would be very interested to hear your response to that question, and not for the purpose of picking it apart.

Well, to me, the ideal "high" would be a mixture of ecstasy, contentment, mirth, "unhinged" thought and action, increased creativity and reception to creative works, a mood of limitless possibility, and a feeling of love for all humanity.
I don't know exactly what people mean when they say "being high", but at least I've actually experienced this particular high in limited amounts. (Naturally, that is.)

When did this become about proselytization?? I thought we were just sharing thoughts, feelings, and ideas on the subject in order to in part better understand each other...

To be perfectly frank, I have too limited experience with the topic to make any better arguments in my favor, or to provide any further insight.

For the record, Alex, I did respond: (not sure if you noticed) Well, to me, the ideal "high" would be a mixture of ecstasy, contentment, mirth, "unhinged" thought and action, increased creativity and reception to creative works, a mood of limitless possibility, and a feeling of love for all humanity.
