Moonlight Sonata and Fur Elise are very good. I can play them both. Personally, Bach does not appeal very much to me. Considering that the clavichord was the instrument they used back then, the pieces don't have as much FEELING as Romantic era pieces and further (clavichord can only play keys at a given volume). Actually, that's not entirely true; the pieces DO have feeling, but they're harder to find, like emotions in an abstract painting, but I am not artistic enough yet to appreciate them. Of course, the pianist often adds feelings of his own, but that often ruins the original concept. Take a look at Bach's violin, cello, and lute suites.

Yay! Go Henry! I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with you. Bach's Orchestral Suites RULE!!! Suite #2 in Bmin has to be the best music I've ever heard. The lute suites are also awesome.
Also, don't forget the Well Tempered Clavier, Inventions, and Sinfoniae!
To Archagon: Listen to the 13th invention and 11th Sinfonia. Those have more feeling than I've heard in any of the Romantic composers' works. But then again, hey, tastes differ.
To Bezzerker: AZERTY's right, you must have listened to the cliche classical music. I think that the pieces most composers are best-known for are not the best representatives of their work. Try to narrow down your tastes,
Do you prefer "major" or "minor?" Do you like fast or slow? Or do you just care about the impression? Do you prefer order or chaos? Do you like certain instrument especially? Etc.

Take a look at Bach's violin, cello, and lute suites. *pout* no violas.... Not worth it then. ;D Actually, I like violin and cello ones just as much anyway....but a viola is just so much cooler. ~*~Me

sometimes looney tunes used classical music, but mostly the music they used isnt my kind of classical music because it wouldnt fit the looney tunes atmosphere well.. In looney tunes you mostly find either peaceful beethoven, or occasionally operas.
