Dont games like SF or Tekken or Soul Caliber have replay value? All you would have to do is make sure that the fighting style was entertaining, and put in some kind of single player "campaign" mode or something, give some unlockable characters, and you have replay value. The most important parts though are the first ones. Because, your right JP, a concept doesnt make the game by itself. It has to be supported by good game play. I was thinking though that a sumo wrestling carp game is a really good concept in my opinion though.

learn how to spell concur before you agree with him
and lets say it was made to be as good as something like soul caliber (not that i think that game is good, just a reference point)
the only difference really would be that you have fish instead of fighters
soul caliber would completely ra.pe the fish game in sales because, while the humor is there, it would be something that could probably only really get popular as a flash game because the concept is too "wtf"

Katamari is at least as wtf. I mean, at least fish actually fight each other and tear each other to pieces, but I can't remember the last time I saw a two inch guy rolling up sky scrapers... Besides, if it was just as fun as any normal fighting game gameplay wise, but funny, I'd be more inclined to play it. At least it would be meant to be funny, where as I think I'm one of the only people who find the constipated overmuscled men screaming funny. And then there was that the clay fighters game, not only did it sell, it even had a sequel or two.
And for the Record, terrance is officially liscensed to mispel words and not have it count as being mispelled, or have it hurt his arguement, its just part of who he is

fish fighting each other would remain entertaining for 5 minutes tops Lots of things sound stupid on the outside, but can be fun inside. It is hard to tell unless we actually play something like this. Like Alex said, this does have humor value in it. Furthermore, it does fit into other game genres such as fighting games which we know does sell.

Thank you jeff. And I'm positive there have been other fighting games which have been rather stupid. I think what would be best with a game like that would be to make fun of traditional fighting games, which are more than a little bizarre in their own right. The problem with them and their absurdity is that they take themselves seriously. But just thnk of some of the characters from tekken and soul caliber, they're freaks!

Forum est americanus, while I'm an anglophile, and its calibre in canada, and you claim to be canadien, so shouldn't you use the canadian spelling?

i'm not in canada
speaking a language (whether small modification or not) from one country while in another is foolish, to that end you could call the forum a country

as far as dialects go, I'd so yes and no. I much prefer the anglican versions of words, as I know you do, for words like grey and colour and such. They're more sophisticated and traditional.
But your avoiding the original arguement
