it is nice, isn't it? I was rather amazed that people took it so seriously. Amazed and pleasantly surprised.

I would like to bring this thread back now that there are many new members here who haven't seen it yet. Be sure to read it before you vote, though - the question has changed slightly throughout the discussion.

Even if I think I've known her forever doesn't make it true. (Happend by this when rereading the whole thread)
So sure Archagon? If you believe in past lives, you very well could have known her forever.
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, let's assume that imaginary persons #1 and #2 are named Billy and Jenny. Billy and Jenny are good friends/enemies/lovers, take your pick, it matters not. 100 years pass, and of course, they are now both dead. They are, however, reborn again and put on Earth where they then meet again as teenagers or adults or something. They are not of the same physical apparence of course, but if there bond was strong enough in the life before, they may feel on a subconcious level that they have "known each other forever" because, well, they kind of have.
Sorry if the offends anyone's religion, that is certainly not my intent. I enjoy the idea of past lives because it makes a lot of sense to me, but I also have no religion, so don't think of me as offensive, or religion imposing.

However, no sex can cause psychological problems. Am I reading this right, or did you say that sex can't cause psychological problems? If so, go have sex with some very young child, and see how their mental stability will change and how many psychological problems they will experience during their later life. Sex can, and does, cause psychological problems, and not just hug either. If someone is particularily attatched to someone else, and they have sex, there is the chance that the experience can be traumatizing and cause problems to their mental health. Now for my opinion on sex before marriage: Personally, I believe that it is wrong. I would rather give the person I will attempt to spend the rest of my life with the "gift" so to speak of my virginity. Also, there is always the chance that sex can result in pregnancy. If the participants are not married, and a child is born, this means that the child could have to be raised by a single parent, which is not good for the child's health. Most males in prison did not have a father figure, and their life of crime can be reasonably blamed on this lacking. One of the reasons could be is that usually the father is the one who enforces discipline, and discipline is an essential thing to have, as is control. Without those, you're pretty much screwed. Not having defenses against urges is disastrous. If you felt the need for sex, then gave into it, you could have just ruined three lives, yours, your partners and the child's if there is one. To apply this lack of control against urges, you could kill someone in a fit of rage, hug someone in a time of lust, commit suicide in a time of depression, and countless other acts, all of which you felt the urge for, whether natural or not. In most instances, you have a choice, no matter how many times you say "but I was forced into it" you did have a choice, unless it was hug. Sex could just happen if humans were not sentient, since we are, it can be controlled to a certain degree. Yes, abstaining from sexual intercourse can make a male irritable, but being irritable is preferable to having to pay child support, or dealing with emotional trauma. and this is all I can come up with, I must leave and do homework or something like that

I couldn't find where I wrote that, but it was a long time ago. I don't know what I was thinking if I said that. I must have been playing devil's advocate or something, cause I certainly didn't mean that! For that matter, looking over the way I was writing back then... I almost feel like apologizing. I sound downright mean. Sorry if I offended anyone anywhere...

no you read it wrong. don't think "sex can't be bad", think instead "it's bad if you never have sex." now does it make more sence? i think it's tricky to word that well.
However, not having sex can cause psychological problems.

I'd hate to think what would have been done to my post if Nick had still been mod. I am technically joking, but it is true that most people think of some sexually related thing ever several seconds...and it's just an assumption with a whole bunch of joke after it! ~*~Me
